Welcome to Anglo Norden.
In 1966 Claus Wedel had a vision; being of Scandinavian extraction he believed that it should be possible to develop a trading relationship with Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, in the supply of sawn timber products to the merchant trade in the UK.
Starting as a Timber Agent from a site at Pottersgate in Norwich, the business soon expanded and a few years later moved to new premises at Felixstowe in Suffolk. The company had by then progressed to buying shipments in its own name, subsequently developing its own shipping department to ensure continuity and security of supply.
Today Anglo Norden operates out of the Port of Ipswich, operating its own terminal facilities, discharging regular shipments from their own chartered vessels, storage in a purpose built warehouse on the quay with full reloading and stock management services.
In September 2011 Woodbank Timber Ltd was formed, which added an imported fencing and landscaping range of products to the Group portfolio. Both companies now make regular mixed full and half load deliveries nationwide to a loyal customer base developed over many years of trading.
The business is still managed by the Wedel family, still believing and delivering that original vision; supplying the highest quality, responsibly purchased imported timber products that meet the timber industry standards and the needs of their customers. Supported by accreditations under the FSC® and PEFC chain of custody schemes and the Responsible Purchasing Policy, our customers can purchase in complete confidence.
